IMPORTANT!
EVERY SINGLE VOTE (RATING) has the same weight in terms of
overall ratings. The "Reader" rating in the tables is a
compiled average of all readers' ratings I've received;
HOWEVER, THE AVERAGE SHOWN IN THE TABLE IS THE SUM
OF ALL THE RATINGS DIVIDED BY THE NUMBER OF VOTES RECEIVED.
As an example, say a table for the game, KILLER KORNFLAKES,
showed:
Mike's..... 8.0
Site 1....... 8.0
Site 2....... 9.0
Site 3....... 7.0
Site 4....... 3.0
Site 5....... 5.0
Site 6..... 10.0
Reader.... 4.3
Average.. 6.3
It would appear that the Average is wrong by just looking
at the table. If you add the 8 ratings (8.0, 8.0, 9.0, 7.0,
3.0, 5.0, 10.0, and 4.3, a total of 54.3, and divide by 8
ratings, the average is 6.8.
However, what you don't see
in this case is that the Reader average of 4.3 is actually
a compilation of 3 separate votes by readers of 2.0, 6.0
and 4.9, a total of 12.9.
But when the total vote score is added up, it is not the
sum of the 8 scores in the table, it's ALL TEN votes, the
first 7 (50.0) PLUS a total of 12.9 from the readers, for a total of
62.9. Divide that by the TOTAL number of votes, 10 (7 +
3 separate reader ratings), and the true Average is 6.3.
As you can see, every person's rating counts a full measure
in the overall rating.
